Laser hair defoliation experiences?

Does anyone have experience with laser hair defoliation in the pubic region? I'm thinking to tattoo my wife's genitals and I'd like much of the hair gone. Probably leave a bit on the pubis in the shape of a small heart: smooth everything else.

How about experience with defoliation elsewhere? Anyone total body, save eyebrows and top of head hair? Total body waxing costs are really piling up.
